Starting: Section M7 - Middle Fork Feather River
Ending:  Section M11 - Above Gold Lake

Morning: long climb up from the Feather River. The trail was COVERED in poison oak. It felt like walking through a field of land mines. I was as careful as possible but probably should have put on long pants. Andy (older brother), you wouldn't make it out here.

Noon: chose to take the Buck's Lake alternate route. The route is a couple miles longer then the PCT route & consists of roads but there is a big payoff: the restaurant at Buck's Lake Lodge. Had a cheeseburger, fries, a pitcher of coke & an ice cream sandwich. Jumped in the lake after lunch.

Evening: covered another 6 miles up to a bouldered knoll above Gold Lake. Met up with Business who was taking a dinner break at a great camp spot. He was low on water & had to continue on. I stayed put and am trying to enjoy the beautiful view of Spanish Peak but feeling very nauseous. Going to bed early…
