I must have been on the wrong trail this morning since it ran up to & then followed a crest. The PCT prefers to get you tantalizingly close to the top of a ridge/crest but stops just below it.

Midday found me having a quick lunch at the I-80 rest stop. I talked to 2 hikers who had flipped to Sisters, OR from Kennedy Meadows & were now southbound. They have to flip back when they finish the sierra and head back northbound. Too confusing.

MetroGnome! Stopped at Rock creek late in the day to get water & there he was just finishing dinner. Turns out he & Cookie were trying to catch me during my 37 miler into Tahoe (I was trying to catch them!). They did a 35 & reached the Highway 50 crossing by 11 pm where they camped.

We are now camped on a high ridge enjoying a spectacular sunset...
