We made it up the ridge last night & were rewarded with the best sunset of the entire trip. Broke camp early and headed for Sonora Pass where we could hitch the 30 miles to Bridgeport for a resupply. Somewhere in the snowfields I lost Cookie Monster & Metrognome and we ended up getting separate hitches into town.

I found them at The Barn, an excellent fast food restaurant. Over-indulging on burritos & burgers and sweating in the upper 90 degree hear, our desire to head back to the trail was weak. Very weak. It took only a few minutes of discussing (rationalizing) the benefits of crashing at a motel before we were all in agreement & headed for the nearest motel to split a room.

Ahhh, the comforts of a town stop: hot shower, cold pint, bag of chips, & a newspaper...
