Starting: Section G8 - Kennedy Meadows
Ending:  Section G8 - 10,000 foot saddle

My pack weighs 45 pounds. Loaded with 7 days of food, warmer jacket, ice axe, & crampons. Luckily I won't have to carry much water since it is everywhere in the Sierras.

The sight of my first alpine meadow was breathtaking. Beautiful green meadows surrounded by mountains with the Kern River flowing gracefully through the middle.

Broke through 10,000 feet for the first time this trip & the 3 of us (Pete, Jason, & I) are currently camped slightly higher on an outcropping above Monache Creek bowl.

Sleeping out in the open again without a tent. It is clear & cold- the stars should be amazing.
