Starting: Section K15 - Bridge Creek
Ending:  Section L3 - Cirque Below Snowy Lakes

We (Chowder, NaborJ, Sweet Potato & I) were up early and enjoyed a communal pot of hot chocolate and an enormous sticky bun from the Stehekin Bakery. Clear skies- going to be a beautiful day.

We got to the Rainy Pass trailhead at noon & enjoyed a leisurely 2-hour lunch. We spread out all of our gear on the pavement to dry in the hot sunshine. Our gear covered an acre- it looked like a hiker had exploded.

We continued up to Cutthroat Pass & arrived late in the day to a setting sun and dropping temps. One of the most stunning landscapes of the entire trail- freshly fallen brilliant white snow, golden larches & a reddening sky. Breathtaking. NaborJ and I couldn't stop taking photographs.

4 more miles to a cirque below Snowy Lakes. We arrived after dark with the temperature below freezing. We set up camp then sat huddled around an enormous communal pot of hot food.

I am sooo happy my gear is dry- might be the coldest night of the trip...
