Washington And I didn't think it could get any worse... Had to ford the Napeequa River first thing this morning. This is supposed to be an easy ford but with all the rain it was as tough as some of the crossings in the Sierra. Changed my mind soon after crossing the river & decided to take the official reroute rather then the bushwhack. There was just too much water flowing down the side of the mountain. Stayed focused & pushed it for 36 miles. The climb over Little Giant Pass was especially brutal. Made it all the way back to the PCT - it was so good to be back on my trail. What had been intermittent showers turned into a steady rain late in the day. By the time I decided to camp everything was totally soaked, including my sleeping bag. Going to be a looong night… Send Bearcan't an email or sign the guestbook at his photoblog. |
