Another damp & cloudy day. Depressing - I was really looking forward to getting a view of Mt. Adams.

The clouds finally broke during the approach to Mt. Adams. The conditions were, for lack of a better word...electric. A brilliant blue sky contrasting the white snow on the mountain. The colors were almost too intense. An expansive sea of clouds filled the valley below. It was one of those profound moments that make you forget about everything other then the beauty on display.

Conditions rapidly deteriorated a few miles down the trail, again becoming cold & very windy. The brief reprieve was over. Currently camped at a sheltered campsite beside Sheep Lake. Yawn...
