Oregon Oregon is BEAUTIFUL! The Oregon section of the PCT thus far has been my favorite - easy grade, tons of water, cool weather, no bugs & amazing views. The hike today wrapped around glaciated Mt. Jefferson, a mountain whose sheer mass rivals Shasta. The surrounding meadows were streaked with fiery red & yellow fall foliage. Stunning. Double-timed it after lunch hoping to get to Olallie Lake before the store closed. Made it with only minutes to spare and got to enjoy a microwave burrito & beer before heading up to a great campsite overlooking Head Lake. Olallie is the Native American word for huckleberry. My hands & mouth have acquired a purple hue from their delicious juice... Send Bearcan't an email or sign the guestbook at his photoblog. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
